Great app! Makes a great game greater with lessons on different solution elements on levels from beginner to really, really, really tough! It's a big thing to me to be able to capture a puzzle from a photo or a scan. Love it! Still love it! I’m back to say it’s still a great app. What I said previously still holds true. One of only two games on my phone, so it has to be tops! FOLLOWUP: This has everything I like in an app. Still tops! ANOTHER FOLLOWUP: Still a wonderful game. It's now the only game on my phone! The best!

Is there a fix?

I love this version with so much help that helps me learn to solve the puzzle more. And I appreciate your long list of daily puzzles.

Allows you to tweak it in so many ways—tons of options for play at various levels and totally teaches you as much as you want to learn. Easy to use. The Best.

For over 12 years this was my favorite game. After installing the latest iOS it became unplayable. Emails to the producer went unanswered. Delete and reinstalling had no effect, or made it worse. I’m really sorry to see this go, but there’s no point to it now

This is one app I come back to time after time. I love how simple and intuitive the game is to play. The challenge of different levels works for me, since on days I want to relax I play easier levels and when I want to challenge myself there are always the harder levels. Sudoku is a game I enjoy while not being gifted at. When I master a new level, that is solve it without using hints at all, I feel a sense of accomplishment. I’ve even managed the simpler levels without using pencil marks!

I appreciate the different settings that let you play the way you wish to. I really like the hints that help me learn how to solve the harder puzzles. After a fairly short period, I am getting better at solving them because of the hint that offers the option to learn what to look for.

The game display is now off with the latest apple update. Please fix.

Does not fit on iPad screen in landscape or portrait.

The revised app has HUGE fonts with nothing in the settings to change them. What was the need to change them?

Doesn’t work on iPad after update to ios 18. Doesn’t size right.

This works so well and has great options without being obnoxious. I love it. Though now I have probably jinxed it. Oh well, it has been worth it. I wish he did more great solitaire games.

I love that this game has so many options which include auto pencil markings to none at all there are so many other choices. It also has hints that will help you learn strategies. And NO Annoying ads that interrupt the game. (Just a small space that doesn’t interfere). This game is so refreshing.

Used this appmfor years - at least 5+. Moved to ipad air 2024 this week, and now can only see a portion of the screen. Unusable.

I have enjoyed this app for years. But in the lat year when I press hint, it just goes to the icon. Please fix. Also cannot open settings. Same thing happens.

What an asset. Take a picture load and go. Clear the pencil marks and put them back where you will. or select the option and the app puts them back and you clean up the board as you. It’s as easy to use as a pencil and paper.

I love Sudoku and have tried many apps and websites, but this app has the best functionality by far, IMO. You can enter numbers in two different ways, so you can fill in all the squares containing a certain digit or you can fill in all the digits that belong in one square. This really makes the difference when solving for speed. The hints function doesn’t just fill in a cell; it guides you through the reasoning and teaches you about strategy so you learn as you play. I wish the NYT sudoku app was half as functional as this one!

I have tried many of online Sudoku apps and this is by far the best. It provides a world of games at any level of difficulty you want; it also provided all of the help you might perhaps want, even going back to the point where the puzzle is solvable if you’ve made mistakes. Superb.

I downloaded 17 apps to find one that would let me color squares. It can’t be that hard of a function to implement, right? Anyways, thank the lord. Two note though (if you still update this app: 1-you should make it easier for people to know how to color. I had to go all the way into settings just to find the option, which I didn’t find on my first download of the app. Google had to help me on that one 2-if recommend advertising that you can color with this app, I’m sure you’ll get some extra traction from more advance sudoku players looking to color. Maybe change your name to “Sudoku:Color” or something like that (which is the first thing I searched for) Anyways, thank god this app lets me color. I was about to quit my search

My dad installed this same app on my iPod touch 10 years ago, and since then, I have played over 100,000 games. I have made sure to back up every device I’ve had to make sure this app get installed, even if it get removed from the app store. This will always be my favorite sudoku app and I will never stop using it as long as I am able to.

This used to be one of my favorite games. I’d play it at least once a day, usually more. But ever since the latest iOS update, it crashes every time. I restarted my iPad, I even deleted and reinstalled the game, but I can’t complete a game anymore, and if I hit the hint button, it crashes the app, every single time. Pleas fix!

So many sudoku apps lack the ability to enter your own. Play from a newspaper and mess up? I want to see what I did wrong, or get a hint. Jason even provides multiple ways to enter your own puzzle! All the other features, including the hints and explanations, are great as well.

This game has not worked on my new iPad since I bought it. It does work when play horizontally. I have always played in this format so now am no longer able to enjoy the game. Was told this would be fixed but as of yet has NOT been. SO VERY DISAPPOINTED 😢

I have played this particular sudoku app for years. Best one out there….until I got a new iPad Pro 4th gen. Suddenly you can’t play in landscape mode because half the screen is off the screen. Portrait mode yes, landscape no. Really? Very annoying trying to balance a tablet in portrait on one’s lap while playing a game. This needs to be fixed.

Lots of options, interesting challenges, and learning mode.

All the difficulty levels you will ever need. The Hint feature can be used to learn from simple to advanced techniques. I love it!

I’ve been playing this game for several years and considered it my top pick and would have rated it a 5. BUT I recently upgraded my iPad to the current version iPad Air. To my surprise the app does not work in landscape mode - only about half the display is visible. After getting no reply from developers I have to downgrade my rating. Let’s face it, a response of “we’re working to address that issue” is far better than no response at all and failing that, I guess have to find another app.

My absolute favorite sudoku app.

Love this app. One of the best out there. Multiple difficulties. Don’t buy the paid version though, has several issues with different play modes. Contacted author no response. Contacted apple for refund.

BEST SUDOKU APP EVER!!!

I played this app for years. Suddenly if you hit hints or when you placed last number, the game disappeared. You got no stats. I deleted it, replaced it, sent feedback. No answers received. Now I see that you can buy a weekly subscription for $1.99. So they deliberately messed up the game to force those of us who play it daily to buy the subscription. SHAME! I will just play it without the stats.

Why all of a sudden does this app kick me out as soon as I finish a game. Can’t get into settings cuz that kicks me out too.

Great game, but all of a sudden, it stopped working properly on my iPad. Whenever I finish a game the program shuts down, so I no longer get to see how I’ve done.

This game did not ask for permission to access other apps just does it Crashes can’t even play how is this even on the App Store

Settings, hints, maybe others are exiting the app and losing the current game. (Automatic update today, 2023.01.13) has worked perfectly for years, up to yesterday. Hate to give it up, hope you fix this quickly!

Since I upgraded to iOS 16.2, Sudoku Joy crashes when I touch the “hint” button or finish the daily Moderate level puzzle. It may crash with the other levels but I haven’t tried them yet.

I have played this for years and loved it. New iPad with new iOS and it does not work.

This app no longer fits the screen after updating to ipadOS 16. The landscape mode is completely unusable. The board is too large to fit the screen. Portrait mode is barely usable, that is it barely fits the screen. The iphone version does not seem to be affected. Landscape mode has never worked there, but I wouldn’t want it because of the size.

The app closes when I tap the hint button to add pencil marks. It’s a problem with all the sudoku versions from this developer since the latest update.

This is a great Sudoku app that is interface-friendly and can be played by the novice who seeks assistance or the keen player who seeks a memory challenge. I do an “intricate” level game every morning just to calibrate my intellect for the day. Great app!

This is a very versatile Sudoku game. To begin with, it has styles of play to choose from, everything from a plainwrap with no illumination just as if you were doing a newsprint game to barely assistive to unlimited hints or partially-completed with only the hard moves left open. For those who like a lot of color, there are colored games where displays change. The level of play goes from the really easy to very, very difficult no matter how good you are. Fun and challenging.
